DREAMING OF THANKSGIVING

I remember my client coming to me and saying she had just committed to having her home on the Harvest Tour, an annual event in her town which draws crowds from near and far. She asked if I was up for the challenge. Once I picked my jaw up off the floor (because I realized the commitment and hours involved) I couldn't wait to get started. It was actually so much fun to organize once we got going, but I reminded her we needed to actually finish designing and decorating her home before we could begin staging it for the tour. Countless hours were spent acquiring all the items we needed to create "Thanksgiving Day" in October. Many of the jobs, such as the pumpkin carving and fresh floral arranging, couldn't be done until the last minute. Needless to say my client and I never went to sleep that night and found ourselves banging out the very last detail as people were lining up at the door. I guess we were on an adrenaline rush at that point!! The end result was wonderful and we raised a great deal of money for the school association. I thought I'd share some photos from it with you. Hopefully it will inspire you to start decorating for Thanksgiving day!!

Everything looks absolutely gorgeous, Gail! The foundational design is wonderful and then the way you staged and styled it to get it ready for the Harvest Tour is fabulous. Makes me want to move right in or at least come for a visit...what time is dinner? ~Jermaine~
